Pen Care

DO NOT use cleaning fluids or any abrasive substance (auto wax) on any part of your new pen.  The abrasives will damage the fine finish of the pen.

DO care for your new pen the way you would any fine wooden product.

Protect it with a light coat of good furniture paste designed for wood products.

Allow the furniture paste wax to dry then buff with a soft, clean cloth.

Wood Pens

As with any fine handmade wooden keepsake, you must take some care to preserve the beauty and functionality of your hand crafted pen.  Here are tips to help care for your fine instrument.

NEVER expose your pen to the extremes of hot or cold.

DO NOT leave your pen in direct sunlight or in a car.  Woods and other materials are very sensitive to temperature changes and may split or develop cracks from the the extremes of heat or cold.

DO keep your pen in a sleeve or leather case whenever carrying is a purse of pocket where it may get damaged.

Acrylic and Tru-stone Pens

Acrylic and Tru-stonepens are somewhat less susceptible to temperature extremes than wooden pens. 

Extended exposure to temperature variations may cause damage to your pen.

These materials are more brittle than wood and can be damaged if dropped.

If your finish dulls over time, any high quality wood furniture polish or clear coat polish can be used.

Light scratches can be buffed out with automotive scratch remover or toothpaste.

Brass Bullet Pens

Over time, the brass shell casing will tarnish from oxidation in the air and by skin oils.  A quick wipe with a brass cleaner will restore the finish to a bright luster. Do not use the polish on any non-brass parts of the pen because the polish can remove the protective finish.
